Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF US) fell $2.80, or 3.4 percent, to $79.20 in trading after the official close of U.S. exchanges. The casual clothing retailer for teens and college students said first-quarter per-share profit would rise ``mid-single-digit'' on a percentage basis, slowed by expenses to open a store in London. Analysts surveyed by Bloomberg had estimated profit to climb 11 percent to 69 cents.
Analog Devices Inc. (ADI US) gained $1.73, or 5.2 percent, to $35.05 in extended trading. The maker of semiconductors used in products from mobile phones to cars said first-quarter profit increased to 44 cents a share, boosted by a royalty payment for use of its technology. Analysts surveyed by Bloomberg on average estimated profit of 37 cents a share.
Apple Inc. (AAPL US): The maker of personal computers and iPod music players reached an agreement with Cisco Systems Inc. to share the iPhone brand. The agreement dismisses Cisco's lawsuit for trademark infringement and allows both companies to use the iPhone name. Apple shares gained $3.30, or 3.8 percent, to $89.20 in regular trading yesterday. Cisco declined 28 cents, or 1 percent, to $27.38 in regular trading yesterday.
General Maritime Corp. (GMR US) gained $4.07, or 10 percent, to $43.79 in extended trading. The third-largest U.S. oil-tanker owner said it will pay a one-time dividend of $15 a share to shareholders of record as of March 9.
MarkWest Hydrocarbon Inc. (MWP US): The natural gas company said it may combine with its MarkWest Energy Partners LP publicly traded unit. Share of MarkWest Hydrocarbon gained 65 cents, or 1.1 percent, to $58.30 in regular trading yesterday. Shares of MarkWest Energy rose 50 cents to $62.10 in regular trading yesterday.
Moscow CableCom Corp. (MOCC US): Renova Media Enterprises Ltd., the telecommunications arm of Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg's ZAO Renova, agreed to acquire the rest of the stock in Moscow CableCom it doesn't own for $12.90 a share. Moscow CableCom rose 8 cents to $11.39 in regular trading yesterday.
Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC US): The third-largest U.S. defense contractor will increase its quarterly dividend by 7 cents, or 23 percent, to 37 cents a share. The dividend is the company's biggest in 10 years of records compiled by Bloomberg. It will be payable March 17 to shareholders of record on March 5. Shares declined 16 cents to $75.29 in regular trading yesterday.
Oceaneering International Inc. (OII US) declined $4.22, or 9.9 percent, to $38.46 in extended trading. The oilfield-services company said first-quarter earnings would be 48 cents to 54 cents a share. Four analysts surveyed by Bloomberg estimated the company would earn 63 cents a share.
Salesforce.com Inc. (CRM US) declined $2.27, or 4.7 percent, to $45.73 in extended trading. The seller of Web-based customer- management software said fourth-quarter profit dropped 91 percent on costs for stock options. Net income fell to $516,000, or breakeven on a per-share basis, from $5.96 million, or 5 cents, a year ago. Sales rose 58 percent to $144.2 million.
ValueClick Inc. (VCLK US) rose $2.77, or 10 percent, to $29.24 in extended trading. The Internet advertising company said it earned 22 cents a share in the fourth quarter. Analysts had expected profit of 19 cents, on average, according to a Bloomberg survey.
WebMD Health Corp. (WBMD US) gained $3.79, or 7.1 percent, to $56.95 in extended trading. The online health information provider said fourth-quarter net income climbed 46 percent to $8.9 million, or 15 cents a share, including $4.4 million in stock-option expenses.
Wild Oats Markets Inc. (OATS US) gained $2.71, or 17 percent, to $18.43 in extended trading. Whole Foods Market Inc. (WFMI US), the largest U.S. natural-foods grocer, agreed to buy Wild Oats for $18.50 a share. Whole Foods will also assume $106 million of debt. Shares of Whole Foods gained $2.24, or 4.9 percent, to $47.94 in extended trading.
